The AgreenaCarbon Project reduces agricultural GHG emissions by transitioning European farmers from conventional, intensive practices to regenerative ones. The approach centres on reducing tillage to minimise soil disturbance, cutting synthetic fertiliser use, and increasing organic soil amendments — together building soil organic carbon storage and long-term soil fertility. Farmers are supported through a carbon payment programme that provides direct financial incentives to adopt these practices, making the transition economically viable across temperate farming regions throughout Europe.
